About Us
ToolShake started as a shared frustration between people who make short-form video and the people who have to write for it. We kept watching great edits underperform for reasons that had nothing to do with the footage: a banned hashtag buried in the stack, a hook that gave the ending away, a call-to-action hiding behind the "more" cutoff, an emoji wall that scared off the read. All of it happened in the caption box — the one part of the workflow that every "content tool" seemed to ignore in favor of dashboards nobody opened twice.
So we built the studio we wanted: a focused set of tools for the copywriting craft that rides on top of a Reel, TikTok, or Short. Not scheduling, not a bloated analytics suite — just hashtag research, banned-tag safety, hook testing, character counting, emoji styling, comment replies, and the honest engagement math underneath it all. Our belief is simple: creators shouldn't need an agency to write like they have one. If the tool can't be understood and used in under a minute, it doesn't ship.
The editorial voice here belongs to our lead writer, a former social-media manager who spent years hand-tuning captions for other people's accounts before deciding the tricks should be free. She sets the tone across every tool description and guide: practical, a little playful, allergic to filler. Everything is browser-based, free, and login-free by design, because the last thing a busy creator needs is another account to manage.
We read every message — tool ideas, hashtag edge cases you've hit, captions that flopped or flew. Tell us what's missing and it usually shows up in the next build. Reach the team any time at [email protected], and we'll write back like humans, not a help-desk macro.
